“What happens when you take The Mars Volta, The Dillinger Escape Plan, a saxophone, a bunch of LSD, a fantastic shirt, and throw them all into a delicious flakey crusted Hot Pocket? You get the explosive math rock band from Pittsburgh, PA known as MICROWAVES.”
-Gear Gods
Watch the new video that Gear Gods says "is definitely going to be turning some heads in the near future," here.
Via Weightlessness is available through Three One G Records on black vinyl as well as digitally via iTunes. Order here.
Microwaves’ latest album, Via Weightlessness, tones down their previous effects-heavy approach, charging lean and unabated toward their dystopian vision. The video for “Antibodies” is a great example of this— a rumbling forth as frenzied as a DMT-dosed rhino. Sterile hospitals and footage of microscopic cells are sped up and interspersed with vivid color to create a jarring juxtaposition of psychedelic science, set to wild saxophone wailing.
