DEATH EYES "Life" Video via Gear Gods

“...34 seconds of angular, mathy, groovy punk music. Prog-minded readers of this site will surely appreciate the band’s stop-on-a-dime tempo changes, dissonant chords, and vocalist Alberto Jurado’s mixed English/Spanish lyrics.”
-Gear Gods

“...a complex score of tempo and rhythm changes, slow dirges, and powerful blasts of pummeling hardcore, all of which gives Alberto a platform to show off some vocal and lyrical range. Lyrics alternate seamlessly from English to Spanish, with vocal styles alternating between an insidious, raspy, nearly spoken style, to lupine yelps and howls, to hauntingly curdling screeches and screams.”

“Erratic hardcore with serious swagger and no fucks given. These San Diego mutants do not care which rules they break…”
-Maximum RNR

This is a track off the upcoming EP, Si La Revancha Fuera Una Opcion, which will be released digitally as well as on colored vinyl through Three One G Records on July 28th. Preorder here.

Death Eyes first came to be in January of 2014, a merging of members from San Diego bands Rats Eyes and Death Crisis (hence the name), made up of Alberto Jurado (vocals), Jimmy Armbrust (bass), Jason Blackmore (guitar), and John Cota (drums). The band released their debut 12” in 2015 via Route 44 Skateboards & Records. Having since played with bands such as The Weirdos, Agent Orange, M.D.C., Nails, and Big Business, it’s evident that what emerged is something brutal, potent, and relevant to hardcore punk.
