SEEK - Kokyou De Shinu Otoko

SEEK: Japanese blackened hardcore beast to release debut full-length album via Silent Pendulum Records

From Osaka, Japan, Seek will release its debut full-length album via Silent Pendulum Records on
June 23rd.

Titled Kokyou De Shinu Otoko – translated to English as The Man Dies in His Hometown
the album is the band's first full-length, despite Seek forming more than 20 years ago.

50 minutes in all,
Kokyou De Shinu Otoko sees the Osaka trio unleashing storms of blackened hardcore. Corrosive tones and impatient blasts carry forth woeful riffs of dread and mourning. Vocalist Suguru Inomoto roars urgently in his native Japanese, occasionally accompanying his own voice with haunting clean vocals that soar alongside the screams. "Thread a thin needle through dry sand," he bellows on the album's title track, a song confronting mortality. "A moth with no pattern dies elegantly."

Seek's sound is a dark, raw affair with great emotional depth, recommended for fans of everything from Neurosis' tormented post-metal to Acme's hellish hardcore, and of newer bands like Hexis and Downfall of Gaia.

Silent Pendulum founder Michael Kadnar, who also drums for Downfall of Gaia, states: "I had the pleasure of playing with Seek in Japan the last time I toured there. I was honestly blown away by their music. Fast forward a few years, I asked them if they need help with their new album. I'm very excited to give them a US platform and to share the stage with them again this July."

Kadnar will return to Japan in July, this time as the drummer for orchestral metal greats So Hideous, who will play fours shows with Seek.
