Of the new single, Body Stuff vocalist/songwriter Curran Reynolds says: "I wrote this song as a message of hope and homecoming, for anyone who needs it."
On the song's chorus, he sings: "A Russian winter of the soul / Spring has come, you're going home / There is a crack in the wall / I had a premonition of something wonderful."
Body Stuff 4 will be released June 2nd via The Chain, the company co-founded by Reynolds, Deaf Club's Justin Pearson, and Trace Amount's Brandon Gallagher.
A review in the May 2023 issue of The Wire Magazine describes the sound as "a massive surge of passionate energy that occasionally comes across like a hardcore Bruce Springsteen."
A new review from Stereogum states, "Reynolds' hearty howl sounds like Springsteen fully embracing his Suicide influence," also adding comparisons to Sisters of Mercy and New York hardcore.
The album contains a guest vocal appearance by 1980s pop icon Tiffany ("I Think We're Alone Now"), as well as a remix by Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu).
Body Stuff was founded by Reynolds and collaborator Ryan Jones in New York City in 2013. The duo has released three EPs to date; Body Stuff 4 is the first full-length.
