EYES OF PERDITION - "When Deeply Ingrained Traumas Spill Forth Like Maggots in Carrion"

EYES OF PERDITION: Las Vegas crushers reveal new music video via Decibel Magazine; vocalist Lindsay O. gives exclusive interview

Las Vegas' Eyes of Perdition have revealed the music video for new track, "When Deeply Ingrained Traumas Spill Forth Like Maggots in Carrion."

The track appears on upcoming debut EP, Incendiary Truths, out August 13th.

Decibel Magazine's Brad Sanders, who premiered the video this week, states: "Their uncompromising hardcore/slam hybrid is as punishing and bone-dry as mid afternoon under the Mojave sun... The songs on Incendiary Truths sit squarely in the gloriously ignorant lineage of Internal Bleeding, with some of the desert-scorched vibes of Xibalba and Gatecreeper thrown in for good measure."

Fronted by Lindsay O., Eyes of Perdition churns out a desert-baked brand of heaviness, drawing from the slam side of death metal and the beatdown side of hardcore. With O.'s menacing vocals leading the way, Neanderthal riffs lumber forward — tar-thick and fueled by growling bass and double-kick hailstorms.

"Las Vegas is a strange terrain," says O. "Outside the glitz of the strip, it's a rough town. Lots of drugs and broken dreams. The local music scene is gritty and honest, without the pomp and circumstance of say, LA. The positive is that we get to do whatever we want. We're authentic; we're ourselves. The music we make is coming from a place of passion."

Lyrically, O. goes deep into her own personal traumas and comes out the other side bearing a message of positivity. She states: "Triumph over the self is a big part of my experience — learning to embrace inner darkness and transform it into something that empowers and informs your life. I've overcome some really heavy experiences by facing my demons and learning to listen to them. And it's through those experiences that I've come to accept myself. We can't grow or be our best selves unless we're willing to sit with ourselves in every storm, in every horrible experience and just feel our way through it. Then, nothing can shake your core, because you're the eye of the storm. That's true power."

Beyond Eyes of Perdition, O. is a multi-faceted artist whose heroes include Henry Rollins, Mike Patton, and Karyn Crisis, and whose musical outlets run the gamut from metal bands to Natalia, a solo project mixing electronic and rock elements.
