ACTORS: Vancouver post-punks nod to Oliver Stone in music video for electrifying new single "Only Lonely" from upcoming album "Acts of Worship"

Vancouver's ACTORS have revealed the music video for brand new single "Only Lonely," off upcoming new album Acts of Worship.

Acts of Worship will be released October 1st on Artoffact Records.

The music video depicts a bloody, Natural Born Killers-style romance, starring model Rachel Rampage and real-life beau, musician Justin Hagberg (3 Inches of Blood, Ritual Dictates).

ACTORS' 2018 album It Will Come to You, also released on Artoffact, put the band's moody, anthemic style on the map, earning these words from Post-Punk.com: "Vancouver’s brilliant post-punk and new-wave quartet ACTORS continue their flair for sonic cinematics... The atmosphere quivers with singer Jason Corbett’s crooning reverb augmented by shivering guitars and stark synths."

Three years later, the follow-up is poised to break hearts and set fire to dance floors. Acts of Worship is an album of driving beats, massive hooks, and dramatic atmospheres – equally melancholy and electrifying.

On new single "Only Lonely," Corbett's silky voice rides atop a growling, syncopated bassline, courtesy of new ACTORS bassist Kendall Wooding, and the metronomic death-disco drumming of Adam Fink. Corbett's guitar and keyboardist Shannon Hemmett's synths dole out an array of tones – some tight and arpeggiated, some broad and soaring – intertwining and blasting the song with color. Corbett credits Roxy Music as an influence on the song: "'Only Lonely' pumps with a bass grind that harkens back to top tier Roxy Music. It finishes with a flourish of arpeggiated synths that’s the icing on the cake. Dance floor approved."

Acts of Worship was produced by Corbett at his own Jacknife Studio in Vancouver; his sonic sculpting is a major component of ACTORS' sound, as well as the sounds of other artists like Bootblacks and SPECTRES.
