Abrams has dropped new single "18 Weeks" today via Decibel.

Bittersweet and stirring, "18 Weeks" drives forward with rockin' drums, howling guitars, and heart-on-sleeve vocals. The song appears on Abrams' upcoming sophomore album Morning, to be released June 9th on Sailor Records.

As Abrams' Taylor Iversen explains, it is a step toward new ground for the band: "We've always wanted to write songs with good catchy riffs and strong vocal hooks to boot. I've always wanted to be a singer but I've only ever been a shouter. This track represents, for us, success on these fronts."

From Denver, Colorado, Abrams is racking up comparisons to later Mastodon and Baroness, as well as ex-Screaming Trees bard Mark Lanegan. Yearning, driving, and bursting with hooks, the ten songs on Morning run the gamut of musical and emotional highs and lows. Phil Pendergast of hometown Denver pals Khemmis lends guest vocals to the almost-title track, "Mourning."

Morning was recorded by Andy Patterson (SubRosa, Cult Leader) and Dave Otero (Cobalt, Cattle Decapitation), and was mixed and mastered by Otero.

The cover art and layout are by Samantha Muljat (Earth, Goatsnake).
