The solo project of NYC artist Curran Reynolds, Body Stuff's impassioned rock music has been described as "a hardcore Bruce Springsteen" (The Wire Magazine) and “Springsteen fully embracing his Suicide influence" (Stereogum). A profile in the November 2026 issue of Decibel Magazine calls it "New Romantic, post-punk and classic alternative, by a metalhead with an eye for pop sensibility."
Coming October 16th, sophomore album Body Stuff 5 was engineered and mixed by longtime Body Stuff collaborator Ryan Jones and mastered by Ted Jensen (Madonna, Metallica).
New single "Death Song" is a heavy waltz, propelled by a growling bassline and moody organ, and building toward a climactic ending. Shot by Reynolds on a rooftop in Brooklyn, the music video stars Blondie guitarist Andee Blacksugar who also performed the majority of the guitars on Body Stuff 5.
Reynolds states: "'Death Song' looks at death as a transformation. It is dedicated to my friend Gene Fowler, whose body was found on the street here in NYC in the spring of 2022 and whose death remains a mystery to me.”
Body Stuff will celebrate the release of the new album with the Body Stuff 5 album release show, October 9th at TV Eye in Queens, New York, where Reynolds will be backed by a live band that includes Blacksugar and drummer Ken Schalk (Candiria). The bill also features Today Is The Day and Statiqbloom.

LOCKSLIP - "Vengeance (You'll Be Seen By Your God)"
LOCKSLIP: LA hardcore outfit calls out abusers in power on new single "Vengeance (You'll Be Seen By Your God)"; music video streaming now
Los Angeles crushers Lockslip have released new single "Vengeance (You'll Be Seen By Your God).”
"Vengeance (You'll Be Seen By Your God)" is the second single to be revealed from the band's upcoming new album, The Conversation, coming November 6th on Bleakhouse.

"Vengeance (You'll Be Seen By Your God)” exemplifies Lockslip's style: a metallic hardcore stampede, marked by breakneck drumming, world-ending breakdowns, and lustrous melodic passages appearing like sunlight through storm clouds. While the quintet cruises through multiple time signatures and wields fiery chops inspired by the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, the shredding is done in service of something bigger. Lockslip's real power lies in its emotional impact – a sense of bleeding-heart urgency and runaway-train momentum that brings to mind the great Converge. Vocalist Sara G delivers every word with absolute conviction, as if drawing from a bottomless well of horror. "The state of the world is complex, it’s dark, and it’s unpredictable, so we want to write music that reflects those anxieties," says G.
On "Vengeance (You'll Be Seen By Your God),” a song condemning abusers, she screams: "Hide behind good deeds while you sow the seeds / You’ll be seen by your god / Burying the truth, altering the youth / You’ll be seen by us all."
"A recurring theme throughout this album is one of consequences," she states. "This song was inspired by someone close to me who survived abuse while in the Boy Scouts. This led me to learn of the close connection between the Boy Scouts and the Catholic Church in their efforts to protect themselves against accountability. People in power, so-called righteous people, perpetrating heinous acts against those meant to trust them. Surely if their afterlife is real, they can't escape judgement."
Shot and edited by Harper King, the "Vengeance (You'll Be Seen By Your God)” music video consists of footage from Lockslip's tour of the Pacific Northwest and Canada in August 2026. The video mixes lighthearted moments from the road with scenes of Lockslip's live assault, showing the band tear through the new single as G stalks the stage (or floor), completely immersed in the moment and exuding pure wrath. The band will travel to Gainesville, Florida in October to play the The Fest 24.
Coming November 6th, The Conversation was recorded and mixed by Lockslip drummer Noah Baxter at Dichotic Studios and mastered by Nick Townsend (Nails, Angel Du$t). Eleven tracks in all, the album features guest appearances by Todd Jones (Nails), Kathryn Edwards (Thirdface), and Bleakhouse owner King Yosef.

SEMUTA - "Thoughtless/Dreamless"
From Portland, Oregon, post-metal duo Semuta has released "Thoughtless/Dreamless," the title track from its upcoming new album, out October 9th on Accident Prone Records.
Pre-order the album, here:
https://semutamusic.bandcamp.com/album/thoughtless-dreamless-2
Stream the music video for the title track, here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVFFrdGiG1k
Recorded and mixed by Scott Evans (Neurosis, Kowloon Walled City) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Portrayal of Guilt, Torche), Thoughtless/Dreamless sees guitarist/vocalist Benjamin Caragol and drummer Ben Stoller deliver their greatest work to date. Decibel Magazine describes the album as "an entrancing collection of dense, diverse tracks filled with quiet-loud dynamics and effortless playing."
Ten minutes in length, the title track begins in a glistening, serene state and slowly builds to an epic, metallic climax, carried along by Caragol's soaring vocals.
Caragol states: “This song is about insomnia. I often wake up in the middle of the night with my mind racing, and am unable to find my way back to sleep. In those moments all I want is to be thoughtless and dreamless, without all the worries about my little life and the world at large."
With 2024's debut album, Glacial Erratic, Caragol and Stoller established a mournful strain of sludgy post-metal, marked by enthralling songcraft and passionate execution. Two years down the road, the pair have grown more deeply united as a musical unit and on the new album their efforts crystallize into a sprawling yet purposeful work of art.
Caragol states: "Thoughtless/Dreamless is our attempt to push the limits of what we can create. We wanted to lean into the more complex and metallic aspects of our band, while also creating more space, atmosphere, and beauty. We wanted to embrace long-form song writing and create something cohesive, with all four songs flowing into one one another to create something seamless and expansive."
Upcoming shows:
October 16 - Portland, OR @ High Water Mark (Album Release Show)
October 17 - Tacoma, WA @ New Frontier
October 18 - Seattle, WA @ Add-A-Ball
October 23 - Chico, CA @ Naked Lounge
October 24 - Los Angeles, CA @ Coyote Studios
October 25 - Oakland, CA @ Thee Stork Club

JUSTIFICATIONS - "Urge to Kill"
"Urge to Kill," the first single from the upcoming debut album by Justifications, is out now.
Stream the official lyric video, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKbQw1vuVvU
Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, Justifications is a new band featuring vocalist Guy Kozowyk and guitarist Kevin Rampelberg, both founding members of The Red Chord, alongside guitarist Mark MacDonald (Austrian Death Machine), bassist Jason Edney, and drummer Tony Hersey. As Justifications, these five deliver a spirited brand of metallic hardcore, bursting with energy and memorable lyrics, recommended highly for fans of Nails, Terror, and Turmoil.
"I was on a mission to deliver lines that sounded abrasive but were also legible," says Kozowyk. "I have a great appreciation for vocalists who are both brutal and can enunciate. If you actually have something to say, I want to hear it."
Justifications will make its live debut on September 19th. Stand by for more show announcements and more details about the debut album, coming in 2027 on Kozowyk's label, Black Market Activities.
Kozowyk lays out the band's mission statement: "Justifications is intended to be direct and fun. A knee-jerk reaction to the world around us." Rampelberg concurs: "The music is more direct, and I think that naturally allows it to connect with people in a different way."
Recorded by Kevin Billingslea (Lamb of God, Cruel Hand) and mixed and mastered by Zeuss (Hatebreed, Rob Zombie), first single "Urge to Kill" sees the quintet charge out of the gate with an infectious 2-minute blitz, packed with double-bass flurries and a ripping guitar solo. Although Justifications' sound is a far cry from The Red Chord, fans of that band will instantly recognize Kozowyk's commanding voice and colorful lyrics, straddling a line between sarcastic wit and blunt reality. "Your face greets me like an ulcer, starts to wreck my day / I’d rather play in traffic than see your stupid face," he barks on the song's verse, enunciating every word and allowing the message to really transmit. Despite the homicidal tint, "Urge to Kill" is ultimately a song about restraining impulses, not following through with them.

Out today: MR.PHYLZZZ - Fear the Lord
Signed to the legendary Amphetamine Reptile Records, Chicago duo mr.phylzzz – vocalist/guitarist Clinton Jacob and drummer Danny Sein – deliver an irreverent take on noise rock, lacing their songs with epic hooks and dark humor. Playful and theatrical in a way that most bands would not dare, this pair thrives on the subversion of all expectations. Out today, new album Fear the Lord features falsetto vocals, pianos, unorthodox percussion, and soaring arena rock vibes, amidst raw, sludgy pummeling.
mr.phylzzz is right at home on AmRep, the label that has come to define an entire sub-genre of iconoclastic music. Furthermore, it was revealed last month that frontman Jacob is 1/4 of Gatta Morta, the new AmRep supergroup featuring Buzz Osborne (The Melvins), Coady Willis (The Melvins, Big Business) and JD Pinkus (Butthole Surfers).

"Vocalist and guitarist Clinton Jacob and drummer Danny Sein approach noise rock with dark humor and a gleeful disregard for convention."
–Destroy//Exist
"Noisy as hell and hot on the heels of forming new supergroup Gatta Morta ... Chicago’s mr.phylzzz swings like a door barely on its hinges."
–Fecking Bahamas
"Guitar, drums, cheap suits, demonic vocals, massive beats and riffs 'til hell wouldn't have 'em. What more do you need? Praise the flies and pass the earplugs, preacher."
–Tinnitist
"The strange and wonderfully eclectic duo, mr.phylzzz ... I think this forthcoming record might be my favorite mr.phylzzz record so far."
